Registered Tangible Cultural Property "Mise Doi Family Residence" in Owase City, Mie Prefecture
The "Mise-doi Family Residence," a registered tangible cultural property in Owase City, Mie Prefecture, is a Japanese-style modernist building designed by Kihachiro Ando and built in 1931. The Art Deco style design and the sukiya tatami room, which beautifully harmonizes the shifting tones of Japanese and Western styles, convey the lifestyle of the Mise-Doi family, one of the leading forest managers in Owase City. In order to pass on this great house to future generations, and to revitalize it as a base for the creation of new businesses in Owase and the development of a relaxed population, the Doi family and the NPO Owase Life Support Center have collaborated to start using it as a shared office and coworking space, "Share Space Doi Miye. This is a collaboration between the Doi family and the NPO Owase Life Support Center.
