"Passing on the Wisdom of the Peasants to the Future, One Hundred Years from Now"
Kame Seien, a natural poultry farm, is located in the back of Iitaka Town with the clear stream Kushida River and the mountains of Kagawa, away from the hustle and bustle. The guesthouse attached to Kame Seien is an old private house with a Wi-Fi environment and two 8-mat rooms with a kitchen. It is a good base for outdoor activities and also supports food education using eggs and vegetables.

100 year old house
Guesthouse Kameiseien is a 100-year-old private house located deep in the Kaohakekyo area. It is a 100-year-old private house with two eight-mat rooms that can be rented out for a rich stay. The friendly owner can speak English and Chinese. We are looking forward to meeting overseas guests who want to enjoy Japan's nature to the fullest.
Holding a baby bird
Here's a shot of the chicken hugging experience for infants and elementary school students and younger. A total of 100 Gotou momiji and Karasukon chicken are raised in the flat-roofed poultry farm behind the Guest House Kame Seien. It is a great experience for small children to interact with these warm creatures. This is an experience full of learning about the special food they are fed and the unique characteristics of the mixed sex poultry.
Kitchen in Guest House Kame Seien
Here's a look at the kitchen in the guest house, where you can freely use the two-burner stove and grill. Please feel free to use the dishes provided. Since this is an old-fashioned kitchen, the height is low and the floor is still tiled. It's a little inconvenient and gives you a retro feeling.
Harvesting, tea picking on the grounds, and gathering wild plants
At Kame Seien, you can harvest tea in the fields, pick tea on the grounds, gather wild vegetables, and make wild tea. You can also cook with fresh eggs from the poultry farm and freshly picked vegetables. Depending on the season, you can plant rice in muddy rice paddies or harvest rice by hand. In summer, you can enjoy playing in the river, observing water creatures, and splitting watermelons. We also offer walking guides, so please let us know what you want.
Kahada Eleven Mountain
We are the closest lodge to the Matsuzaka Kahada Eleven Mountains selected for 2020: Hizuka, Ikegoya, and Mt. If you have children with you, we can recommend Mount Takami and Mount Mimine, which are about half an hour away on the approach. The owner of Kame Seien is a former member of the cycling club and has a lot of experience in mountain climbing, so outdoor guests are welcome. The upper reaches of the Kushida River are also used for releasing eelgrass and sweetfish, and mountain stream fishing guests are also welcome.
Miyanotani trekking
The Miyanotani trekking that boasts the beauty of a ravine is also 20 minutes away. Although the path is sometimes under maintenance due to collapses, it is especially recommended during the seasons of fresh green and autumn leaves. In addition, there are many other places to enjoy the river, known as Kushida River Green. The weak point of the scenic Kame Seien is the inconvenience of shopping. Please come with plenty of time to buy food and daily necessities.
